On this wonderful Friday we would like to take a little time to recognize our friends at Skaneateles Suites for providing us with beautiful properties to use in the Skaneateles and Finger Lakes region.
I think more often than not, people overlook this community as a legitimate vacation spot. Skaneateles, and the general finger lakes region is a great place to spend a few days. There are ample activities and great dining, but also the ability to relax with amazing landscapes. It is quite a unique place! So if you are in the area and need a place to stay, feel free to contact these wonderful people. They have plenty of options ranging from bungalow suites to extended stay apartments! Their email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
In lieu of the grand opening of Dr. Vance’s Family Chiropractic, Dr. Neil Vance is hosting an ice cream social at Skan-Ellus on Friday, April 30 at 6:00 pm. The first 150 people to arrive will receive a free ice cream of their choice! Who doesn’t love ice cream? Especially when it is free! I’m sure we will see many of you out there.
The philosophy at VFC is extremely optimistic and refreshing, two words that are not normally associated to health practices. Here is a direct quote from Dr. Vance’s site: “Our philosophy is to treat the body “naturally.” “This philosophy is more than words, it’s a way of life for our patients and staff. We practice it, believe in it and are living healthier because of it. We welcome the opportunity to put you on a path to a healthier and happier lifestyle.”
Hope to see a good turnout to support Dr. Vance. We wish him the best of luck! For more information on the event, or medical needs, feel free to contact Dr. Vance at info@VanceChiroCenter.com
It was a nice quiet weekend around here. They always seem to be nice from the end of March all the way through October in the area. On Friday, we went out to cedar house lanes for rock ‘n’ bowl. We had a blast. Not a good bowler but I strive for 150-160. We won some cash and free games, and had a couple beers with friends.
Saturday we took a drive out to Manlius and also saw Alice in Wonderland in the afternoon. Overall pretty good, not my favorite story of all time, but almost perfectly done–very charming. One thing I would say…don’t bother with Shutter Island (Look–I didn’t even give it a link). Oh, and for lunch–Brooklyn Pickle! Cajun Turkey to be exact. By far the best sandwich in Syracuse.
This morning we went up to Marcellus high and I learned how to play a little field hockey. Interesting, but fun game. If it was a little more of a contact sport it would be really fun! It’s nice to live in this community and be able to use the beautiful facilities we are so lucky to have!
Looking forward to the warmer months and being able to truly enjoy the beauty and majesty of these towns. And really looking forward to being on the lake…nothing like it! Soccer game tonight, wish us luck! Over and out.
I’ve always wanted to have a true blog…mostly just to be able to say I have one (not because I am a good wordsmith). I guess it’s a lofty goal, but I will strive for people to not only follow the blog on a regular basis, but also use it. And if you knew me, you would know, I do not like to fail.
Heres a few goals and guidelines for the blog:
1-I would like this to be a hub of information for the Marcellus, Skaneateles, and the surrounding areas. A place where people can go to find information on a restaurant, a hiking trail, or even where to find job openings.
2-My hope is that I will be able to get information out on all the restaurants, shops, small businesses, and all other commerce forms in the region, and sort by category to make it extremely easy to use.
3-Mostly, I just hope to be able to write about my experiences in these towns as I realize how much they have shaped my life today. Most likely more therapeutic than interesting. But whatever.
Oh, and the blog is anonymous because it’s not about us, it’s about these towns. Plus, it’s more fun that way.
So here’s to hoping.
